Honor has launched the Magic V6 foldable phone ahead of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, reinforcing its focus on slim foldable designs and improved battery performance.

The device measures 4mm thick when unfolded and 8.75mm thick when folded, making it slightly thinner than the previous Magic V5 model. It features a 6,600 mAh battery, an upgrade from the 5,820 mAh battery in the previous version. The launch highlights the manufacturer’s efforts to enhance battery performance within the competitive smartphone sector.

The Magic V6 supports 80W wired charging and 66W wireless charging. Honor also demonstrated new Silicon-carbon battery technology that could enable foldable batteries over 7,000 mAh in the future, indicating a potential significant improvement in battery capacity for future devices.

The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It features a 7.95-inch main AMOLED display and a 6.52-inch cover display, both utilizing LTPO 2.0 technology for a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate. The external screen includes an anti-reflective coating with a reflectivity rating of 1.5%, enhancing the overall display quality.

Honor introduced a “Super Steel Hinge” with a tensile strength of 2,800 MPa. The company stated this component reduces the display crease depth by 44%, improving the overall durability and aesthetics of the foldable design. The device is equipped with a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP main camera, a 64MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Additionally, there are dual 20MP front cameras, providing users with versatile camera capabilities.

The Magic V6 offers compatibility with Apple devices, including two-way notification sync with iPhones and the ability to display notifications on Apple Watches. It also supports one-tap file sharing with Macs and can function as an extended display, making it a convenient option for users across different ecosystems.

The phone is scheduled for release in select international markets in the second half of the year, marking the next step in Honor’s strategy to expand its presence in the global smartphone market with innovative foldable technology.
