Huawei launched a comprehensive suite of U6GHz products and solutions at MWC Barcelona 2026 on Saturday, positioning the portfolio as a bridge between 5G-Advanced and 6G, and making it commercially available.

The product line includes macro sites, micro sites, and microwave equipment designed for the mobile AI era. The centerpiece is a 256 TRX Active Antenna Unit featuring a large antenna array and digital-analog hybrid intelligent beamforming. This new portfolio aims to accelerate the transition to high-frequency spectrum for mobile networks. The U6GHz band offers significant bandwidth, supporting the increased data demands of AI-driven applications.

Countries including China, the UAE, and Brazil are advancing spectrum identification and allocation for U6GHz following decisions at the World Radiocommunication Conference 2023. The flagship AAU pairs hyper-resolution MU-MIMO with 400 MHz bandwidth. Huawei stated the unit delivers downlink capacity of 100 Gbps and uplink capacity exceeding 10 Gbps. Per-user peak experiences are 10 Gbps down and 1 Gbps up.

In addition to the macro site solutions, Huawei introduced U6GHz small cell products for indoor environments. These support full 400 MHz bandwidth and coordinate across all sub-6 GHz bands. The company also announced new microwave products using full-duplex technology to handle high-bandwidth transmission demands.

Alongside the wireless portfolio, Huawei announced upgrades to its 5G-A mobile transport architecture. The new Mobile Backhaul Network introduces 10GE/25GE links to cell sites, L3 routing to the site, and end-to-end SRv6. This supports differentiated experience assurance for operators. Furthermore, Huawei highlighted its Fiber Health Care solution using built-in OTDR and self-diagnosis algorithms.

The Fiber Health Care solution detects fiber faults at 10-meter accuracy over distances up to 80 kilometers. Huawei said the solution achieves minute-level break detection and a 20% improvement in fault location efficiency. The company expects mainstream consumer devices compatible with U6GHz to reach the market in 2026.

MWC Barcelona 2026 runs from March 2 through 5 under the theme “All Intelligence.” Huawei is among the major exhibitors showcasing next-generation network and computing technologies.
