Some iPhone users are singing the blues after updating to iOS 18.4, as the update appears to be causing widespread CarPlay connectivity issues.
Reports are flooding in detailing a frustrating array of problems, from vanishing “Now Playing” data on car displays to shaky wireless connections. Some users are finding themselves in a Groundhog Day loop of plugging and unplugging their iPhones—sometimes up to five times—just to get CarPlay to function.
This isn’t a make-and-model-specific inconvenience, either. Drivers of Hondas, Mazdas, Audis, and Fords are all reporting similar woes.
Affected users have attempted standard troubleshooting steps, like re-pairing phones and rebooting devices, but to no avail. As of now, Apple hasn’t commented on the CarPlay chaos.
