Huawei has expanded its 5A network connectivity support to include the Enjoy 70X, an entry-level smartphone, which is expected to receive this enhanced networking capability through an upcoming HarmonyOS update.
The 5A network standard surpasses conventional 5G connectivity, offering significant improvements. According to Huawei Central, it provides 50 percent faster access than standard 5G, 30 percent higher throughput, 49 percent lower latency, 50 percent wider coverage, and nearly 80 percent more stable connections.
This move marks a strategic shift by Huawei to bring premium features to budget-friendly hardware, as 5A support was previously reserved for flagship and mid-range devices. The Enjoy 70X is also notable for being the first model in the Enjoy family to feature smart satellite capabilities, allowing users to send satellite messages or images by long-pressing the X button.
The device includes additional features such as HarmonyOS smart communication with AI-powered networking, dual SIM support, and signal enhancement for underground environments. Recently, it became the first device to support HarmonyOS 6 API version 22, receiving immersive interface upgrades.
Huawei appears to be expanding its networking capabilities across a broader range of devices, with plans to bring 5A connectivity to older flagships and mid-range models as well.
