Google has expanded the functionality of its NotebookLM mobile app for Android and iOS by introducing slide deck and infographic customization features, bringing it closer to the full capabilities of its website version.
The update is visible in the Studio tab, where pencil icons now appear next to the Infographic and Slide Deck options, allowing users to personalize the generated content. Previously, the mobile app generated content using only default settings, but now users have more control over the output. For infographics, customization options include Orientation, which can be set to Landscape, Portrait, or Square, as well as choices for Sources, Prompt, and Language.
For Slide Decks, the Format can be chosen between Detailed Deck and Presenter Slides. The Detailed Deck format includes full text and details, making it suitable for emailing or standalone reading. In contrast, Presenter Slides feature clean visuals with key talking points, designed to support presentations. Additional customization options for Slide Decks cover Language, Length, Sources, and Prompt. The Length can be set to Short, Default, or Long, with the Long option being available for Google AI Ultra subscribers.
The rollout of these new customization features started last week and is now becoming available to more users. If the update is not yet visible in the app, users can force-stop the app to trigger the update. Alongside these enhancements, Google also released Video Overviews for the mobile app this week. However, it’s worth noting that the mobile Studio tab still lacks some features present on the website version, including Mind Map, Reports, and Data Table. Furthermore, Video Overviews on the mobile app currently have no customization options.
