Bluesky has introduced a drafts feature, allowing users to save unfinished posts, bringing it in line with competitors X and Threads, which have offered similar functionality for some time.
The new feature enables users to access their drafts by opening the post composer and tapping the Drafts button located in the top-right corner. As Bluesky announced on their platform, “v1.116 is rolling out now! For all the overthinkers and perfectionists out there, we’re launching Drafts.” This update is part of Bluesky’s ongoing efforts to enhance its platform.
The launch of the drafts feature follows Bluesky’s recent roadmap announcement, which outlined plans to improve its algorithmic Discover feed, enhance follow recommendations, and make the app feel more real-time. The company acknowledged the need to prioritize basic features to further develop its platform.
Despite experiencing growth since opening to the public in early 2024, Bluesky still lags behind its rivals in terms of core functionality, lacking features such as private accounts and support for longer videos. As of now, the platform has reached over 42 million users, based on data from its developer API.
