Google has expanded its ecosystem for the Pixel Watch 4 by introducing support for third-party charging accessories, with the Mous Pixel Watch Charger being the first Google-certified option available on the Google Store for $49.99.
The Mous Pixel Watch Charger incorporates official Google Pixel Watch charging hardware, aligning with Google’s stringent safety and performance standards to offer users a certified and reliable charging solution.
This charger is capable of delivering 5.6 W fast contact charging. To achieve optimal performance, it is recommended that users connect it to a USB-C power source that is 7.5 W or higher.
A notable feature of the Mous Pixel Watch Charger is its dual-part authentication IC. This technology enables the charger and the Pixel Watch 4 to authenticate each other’s identity before the charging process commences, thereby ensuring the use of an officially certified and safe charger.
The charging mechanism employed by the device is pogo-pin contact charging, a design choice that facilitates modular upgrades and enhances compatibility with other charging accessories from Mous.
It’s worth noting that the Mous Pixel Watch Charger is specifically designed for the Pixel Watch 4 and is not compatible with earlier models of the Pixel Watch. The availability of this charger was initially reported by 9to5Google.
