Delete YouTube Playlists on Mobile or Desktop Easily

This guide explains how to delete public or private YouTube playlists, whether you created them yourself or saved them from others using your mobile device or computer.

Follow these step-by-step methods to delete playlists on mobile or desktop. You can remove unwanted YouTube playlists using either the YouTube mobile app or the YouTube website on your desktop.

To delete a YouTube playlist on a mobile device, open the YouTube app and sign in to your account if you are not logged in. Tap your profile picture at the bottom-right corner to access your account menu.

Under the Playlists section, tap the playlist you want to delete, or tap View all to browse through your playlists. Once you have selected the playlist, tap the ellipsis (⋮) in the top-right corner to open it in full view.

If it’s a playlist you created, proceed to the next step. If it’s a saved playlist from someone else, tap the bookmark icon beneath the title instead. The icon will become unfilled, and you will see Removed at the bottom of the screen.

To delete a playlist you created, tap Delete playlist and then tap Delete to confirm. The playlist will be removed from your library.

To delete a YouTube playlist on a desktop, go to YouTube in your web browser and sign in to your account if you are not logged in. Click Playlists in the left sidebar to access your playlists. If the menu is collapsed, click the three-line icon to expand it.

Click View full playlist below the thumbnail of the playlist you want to delete. Then, click the ellipsis (⋮) underneath the playlist title to access the playlist menu.

If it’s a playlist you created, proceed to the next step. If it’s a saved playlist from someone else, click the bookmark icon underneath the title instead. The icon will become unfilled, and you will see Removed from library on the screen.

To delete a playlist you created, click Delete playlist next to the trash-can icon. The playlist will be deleted from your library.

Organize your playlists regularly to keep your YouTube library clean and improve personalized recommendations based on your viewing habits. After deleting unwanted playlists, consider creating new ones to curate your favorite videos.

Creating new playlists helps in building collections for specific topics like workouts or tutorials, making it easier to access content later. You can also explore YouTube’s sharing features to collaborate on playlists with friends.

Regularly reviewing your subscriptions and saved items helps maintain a streamlined experience across devices.
