Rode has introduced the Wireless Micro Camera Kit, an upgraded version of its Wireless Micro system, designed to enhance versatility in audio recording for content creators.

The kit is universally compatible with modern camera systems, including digital cameras, smartphones, and mobile devices, allowing users to switch between platforms without encountering compatibility issues. This expanded compatibility builds upon the original system’s smartphone connectivity, now extending to full-size cameras.

Key improvements in the Wireless Micro Camera Kit are centered on the receiver unit, which now features a 1.1-inch AMOLED display for enhanced control over settings. The receiver includes both 3.5mm TRS and USB-C outputs, enabling direct connections to professional camera rigs. The unit has been enlarged to accommodate the display and incorporates a cold shoe mount for secure attachment to cameras. This design improves handling and accelerates setup in diverse filming scenarios.

The kit retains the high-quality audio transmission characteristic of its predecessor, prioritizing mobility and flexibility for videographers and vloggers. It supports single-channel operation, making it suitable for straightforward audio capture during video production.

In comparison to Rode’s Wireless GO II, which offers dual-channel recording, on-board audio storage, and an extended transmission range, the Wireless Micro Camera Kit is focused on compact, universal integration without these advanced features. Notably, the Wireless GO II also maintains broad compatibility across cameras, phones, and computers.
