HBO Max has announced a price increase for all its subscription plans, effective October 21, 2025, with existing subscribers to be affected from their first billing cycle on or after November 20, 2025.

The price adjustments see the Basic with Ads plan rising by $1 to $10.99 per month, and by $10 to $109.99 annually. Similarly, the Standard plan will now cost $18.49 per month, representing a $1.50 increase, or $184.99 per year, marking a $15 increase. The Premium tier has seen a $2 rise to $22.99 per month, or a $20 hike to $229.99 per year.

This is not the first time HBO Max has increased its prices; the last hike was in June 2024. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav had previously indicated that a price change was on the horizon, reasoning that the service was underpriced relative to the quality and quantity of its content. Zaslav also revealed plans to tackle password sharing in the future, a strategy employed by competitors such as Netflix and Disney+. The recent price increase at HBO Max aligns with the trend observed among other streaming services, including Disney+, Hulu, and Apple, which have also adjusted their pricing in recent times.
