Samsung has launched the Perplexity TV App, an AI-powered application for its smart televisions, integrating generative AI to provide an interactive user interface on its connected screens. The app is currently available on 2025 Samsung TV models.

The Perplexity TV App functions as an “answer engine,” designed to collect real-time responses from credible sources to deliver accurate and visually supplemented answers. It also provides users with follow-up suggestions to facilitate deeper exploration of topics. The application is an extension of Samsung’s Vision AI Companion platform, first shown at IFA 2025. This integration allows users to ask complex questions and receive immediate answers and recommendations directly on their television screens.

Users can access the Perplexity TV App through the Apps tab on their TV or via the Vision AI Companion’s dedicated AI button. The system supports voice commands for interaction, along with options for text input using an on-screen or a connected USB keyboard. As part of the launch, users can claim a complimentary 12-month Perplexity Pro subscription by scanning a QR code presented within the application.
