David Sirland, the lead producer for Battlefield 6, has announced that a bug known as “ladder launching” will be removed in an upcoming patch, addressing player concerns following the game’s initial launch.
This bug allows players to bounce off Assault Ladders to receive a sudden speed boost and launch into the air, creating unintentional mobility options and new angles for attacks. Sirland’s confirmation came in response to player feedback, demonstrating the development team’s commitment to addressing community concerns.
On the social media platform X, Sirland solicited feedback from the community, stating, “Please keep the feedback coming! With the first weekend for BF6 in the wild, we are bound to have found issues, problems, stuff you like to see change – perhaps even praise? It’s still all good, I want to know. And the team is eager to show you how much we care!” This call for feedback highlights the team’s proactive approach to engaging with players and improving the gaming experience.
Assault Ladders have been connected to other issues as well, with players using them to access high-ground positions that were not intended to be reachable. Besides the ladder bugs, Sirland also publicly acknowledged other player suggestions, such as adding names to objective points and addressing problems with helicopter spawns.
The development team has already released quick hotfixes to address separate movement-related bugs, demonstrating their responsiveness to player concerns. Further improvements are expected in the coming weeks as the game moves toward its major Season 1 update, scheduled for October 28.
The full launch of Battlefield 6 last weekend was met with high player traffic, resulting in extensive server queues. The high volume of users also caused the EA app to crash. In response to the service disruption, EA provided free premium battle passes as compensation to users who were frozen out of the game.
