Salesforce has unveiled Agentforce 360, the latest version of its artificial intelligence agent platform, as the company vies for enterprise clients in a crowded market, ahead of its annual Dreamforce customer conference starting October 14.
A notable feature within Agentforce 360 is its new AI-agent prompting tool, named Agent Script, scheduled for a beta release in November. Agent Script allows users to program their AI agents with “if/then” logic, making them more flexible and better equipped to respond to variable situations, such as customer questions.
The platform utilizes “reasoning” models, described as being able to think before responding, as opposed to generating responses based on patterns. These “reasoning” agents are powered by technology from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini.
Salesforce also announced the release of a new agent-building tool, Agentforce Builder, which enables users to build, test, and deploy AI agents from a single location. Agentforce Builder, set to be released in beta in November, includes Agentforce Vibes, an enterprise-grade app-vibe coding tool announced earlier this month.
The company confirmed a broader integration between Agentforce and Slack, with core Salesforce applications surfacing directly within the Slack interface starting this month. The integration is expected to expand through the beginning of 2026.
As part of the integration, Slack is piloting a new version of its Slackbot chatbot, designed to act as a personalized AI agent that learns about a user’s activities to offer insights and suggestions. Salesforce plans for Slack to function as an enterprise search tool in the future, with connectors to platforms like Gmail, Outlook, and Dropbox launching in early 2026.
This announcement comes amid significant activity in the enterprise AI market. Recently, Google announced Gemini Enterprise, a suite of tools for building enterprise-grade AI agents, with early customers including Figma, Klarna, and Virgin Voyages. Anthropic has also made progress with its enterprise product, Claude Enterprise, securing a deal with Deloitte and announcing a strategic partnership with IBM.
Salesforce claims Agentforce has 12,000 customers, significantly more than its competitors, and named Lennar, Adecco, and Pearson as early pilot customers of its Agentforce 360 upgrades. This development occurs despite a recent MIT study finding that 95% of enterprise AI pilots fail before reaching production, highlighting the challenges companies face in justifying the expense of these tools.
