A recent battery endurance test by the TechDroider channel compared the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max with several other flagship smartphones, revealing surprising results regarding their battery life.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, equipped with a large 7,500 mAh battery, lasted 13 hours and 36 minutes during the test. This runtime was only five minutes longer than that of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which has a significantly smaller 4,823 mAh battery and recorded a runtime of 13 hours and 31 minutes. The marginal difference in battery life between these two devices, despite their considerable battery capacity disparity, is noteworthy.
During the test, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max also registered the highest peak temperature among the devices, reaching 47.6 °C. The heat level prompted the tester to briefly pause the procedure after temperature limits were surpassed, indicating potential thermal management issues with the device.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, with a 5,000 mAh battery, placed last in the comparison with a runtime of 11 hours and 20 minutes. The full battery life results from the test are detailed as follows: the Xiaomi 15 Pro, with a 6,100 mAh battery, managed 12 hours and 31 minutes; the OnePlus 13, equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery, lasted 11 hours and 56 minutes; and the Pixel 10 Pro XL, with a 5,200 mAh battery, had a runtime of 11 hours and 28 minutes.
The test results highlight the varying efficiencies of different smartphones in utilizing their battery capacities. While the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max had the longest battery life, its significant heat generation raises concerns about its overall performance and user experience.
