Treyarch has introduced significant changes to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s multiplayer experience during its Early Access Beta, focusing on matchmaking diversity and weapon balance.

The Open Moshpit playlist will feature drastically reduced skill-based matchmaking, allowing players to encounter opponents with more varied skill levels across all maps and modes. This approach aims to create more unpredictable and dynamic gameplay experiences.

The development team has closely examined player feedback, particularly regarding time-to-kill (TTK) mechanics. Specifically, they identified the Dravec 45 and M8A1 weapons as performing significantly above other weapons. A weapon balance update is planned to bring these weapons’ performance more in line with other available weapons.

Several key gameplay modifications have been made, including permanent door openings in The Forge and Cortex maps, increased automatic door open time from 2 to 4 seconds, and an extended automatic door opening range. Additionally, a 15% increase in minimap visibility has been implemented, and wall-jump mechanics have been adjusted to reduce accidental forward jumps.

Progression systems have also been enhanced, with increased weapon XP earn rates for both Multiplayer and Zombies modes. The Skewer Scorestreak and Drone Pod Field Upgrade now offer improved overclock earn rates.

The development team has addressed numerous stability issues, including server problems related to the Training Course, turrets, Overload, Gravemaker, Skewer, and Vigilance Perk. Zombies-specific fixes have resolved gameplay and stability challenges, such as the Rampage Inducer limitation and Exfil instability.

The beta, which began this week, requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot on PCs to enhance security and combat cheating. However, within hours of the beta’s launch, social media clips revealed wall hacks and aim bots were already in use.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is scheduled for full release on 14 November, with the current beta providing crucial data and community feedback to refine the gaming experience.
