Apple to Launch Multiple New Products in October

Apple is anticipated to release more than five new products in October, following a September launch event that included the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and Apple Watch Ultra 3. The upcoming announcements are expected to cover several product categories, from home devices to professional-grade computers.

A new Apple TV 4K is expected, three years after the previous model’s release. Rumored updates for the device include the integration of an A17 Pro chip, which would be an upgrade from the current A15 Bionic processor. The new model is also expected to support Apple Intelligence and feature Apple’s new N1 wireless chip. Some reports suggest the device may also incorporate a Center Stage camera. This update comes as Apple faces increased competition in the streaming device market from Google and Amazon.

The company is also expected to introduce a second-generation HomePod mini. The original model was released in November 2020. The HomePod mini 2 is rumored to receive support for Apple Intelligence and the new N1 wireless chip. Additional expected upgrades include improvements to audio quality and an updated Ultra Wideband chip for enhanced spatial awareness. The device’s physical design and core functionality are anticipated to remain largely consistent with the existing model.

An M5-powered iPad Pro is also reportedly planned for October. This release is positioned as a “spec-bump update” rather than a complete overhaul like the previous generation, which introduced a tandem OLED display and the M4 chip. In addition to the new M5 processor, the updated iPad Pro is expected to feature Apple’s N1 wireless chip. Memory configurations will likely include 12 GB of RAM on some models and 16 GB on others. The device may also come equipped with dual front-facing cameras. It remains to be seen if Apple will incorporate its new C1X modem, which is currently exclusive to the iPhone line.

More than four years after the debut of the original, an AirTag 2 is rumored for release. The successor to the item tracker is expected to feature three primary enhancements. These include a new Ultra Wideband chip for more precise location tracking, an improved focus on privacy features, and an extended range for its precision finding capability. The physical design and general operation of the AirTag 2 are expected to be similar to the first-generation device.

A new version of the Apple Vision Pro, which first launched in early 2024, is also anticipated. The original device has reportedly struggled to gain significant consumer momentum. The upcoming model is rumored to be equipped with either an M5 or M4 chip and feature a redesigned head strap for improved comfort. A black finish option may also be available. The overall form factor and core features are expected to be unchanged from the original. Apple is also reportedly developing a lighter and less expensive model, potentially named “Apple Vision Air,” but its release is not expected for another one to two years.

The release schedule for the M5 MacBook Pro and new Mac displays remains uncertain. Apple has historically launched new MacBook Pro models in or around October. However, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has reported that the M5 MacBook Pro could be delayed until early 2026. In a more recent statement, Gurman noted that a fall launch is still a possibility for both the M5 MacBook Pro and two new Mac displays. These displays are expected to be successors to the current Studio Display. Adding to the speculation, evidence of an M5 MacBook Pro was recently found in an FCC filing, which could suggest a launch is planned for the near future.

The original report also detailed several related accessories. The list includes the AirPods Pro 3, which was mentioned as part of Apple’s September product announcements. Other items listed are a MagSafe Car Mount for the iPhone, a HomeKit smart plug 4-pack, a 10-year AirTag battery case 2-pack, and a 100W USB-C fast-charging power adapter.
