CMF, the budget-focused sub-brand from Nothing, has unveiled its first over-ear wireless headphones, the CMF Headphone Pro, ahead of its planned spin-off into a standalone subsidiary.
The CMF Headphone Pro is now available in the EU and UK, while customers in the United States will have to wait until October 7, 2025. The US price is set at $99, significantly lower than the $299 price tag of Nothing’s Headphone 1. The headphones come in three color options: dark gray, light green, and light gray. For those looking to personalize their headphones further, replacement ear cushions are available separately for $25 in bright orange or light green.
The design of the CMF Headphone Pro features soft curves, round earcups and cushions, and a padded headband, drawing inspiration from the Nothing Headphone 1. The headphones incorporate a multi-function roller control, similar to the one found in the Headphone 1. Instead of touch-sensitive panels, the CMF Headphone Pro uses tactile buttons for controls, including a round power/Bluetooth button on one side and a matching action button on the other, which can be customized using the Nothing X app. The multi-function roller allows users to adjust volume, control media playback, and modify ambient sound levels. A notable feature is the “Energy Slider,” a physical control that enables quick adjustments to the treble and bass balance without needing to access the app’s EQ settings.
The CMF Headphone Pro boasts adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) that automatically adjusts its intensity based on the surrounding ambient noise. The headphones are powered by an internal 720 mAh battery, offering up to 100 hours of playback on a full charge. With ANC enabled, the battery life is reduced to a maximum of 50 hours. Notably, the battery life with ANC activated surpasses that of the Headphone 1 by 15 hours and also outperforms Sony’s WH-1000XM6, which provides up to 40 hours of playback, or 30 hours with ANC. The device supports fast charging, with a five-minute charge providing up to four hours of listening time. Additionally, the headphones can be recharged by connecting them directly to many smartphones via a USB-C cable.
