Android 16 beta just fixed the haptic hellscape

Android 16 Beta 3.2 is here to smooth out the rough edges left by its predecessors, specifically targeting haptic feedback gone haywire in the previous release. Google’s latest beta build addresses battery drain, camera display hiccups, and other stability concerns as the stable release remains slated for June 2025.

Released in April 2025, Android 16 Beta 3.2 follows Beta 3’s Platform Stability milestone from mid-March 2025, and the subsequent Beta 3.1 update which tackled battery drain and Settings app crashes.

The update ranges from 34MB to 42MB via OTA download and includes the following fixes:

  • Haptic feedback: Fixed miscalibration issues (Issue #392319999, Issue #400455826).
  • Battery drain: Addressed excessive drain, even during device inactivity (Issue #398329457).
  • Pixel 6/6 Pro camera: Resolved screen flickering during photo and video capture.
  • System stability: Improved overall system stability and usability.

The update is available to all eligible devices enrolled in the Android Beta for Pixel program as an over-the-air (OTA) update.
