Nothing’s upcoming flagship true wireless earbuds, the Ear (3), are set to be unveiled on September 18, following a series of leaks that have revealed official-looking images and key specifications.
The Ear (3) succeeds the original Nothing Ear model, with the company adopting numerical naming to simplify identification across generations. Leaked photos showcase the earbuds’ signature transparent design paired with a premium metal charging case, as previously confirmed by Nothing. The design maintains the aesthetic that has become characteristic of the brand.
A standout feature of the Ear (3) is the integrated “Super Mic” in the case, rated at 95 dB, designed to enhance phone call quality. This addition suggests that the earbuds’ built-in microphones may have limitations for certain scenarios, potentially offering content creators a convenient alternative to dedicated setups without needing external equipment. The inclusion of this feature indicates a consideration for users who require high-quality audio capture.
Technically, the Ear (3) boasts 12 mm dynamic drivers for immersive audio, up to 45 dB active noise cancellation (ANC) for focused listening, and support for high-resolution 24-bit audio streaming via LDAC codec. These specifications position the Ear (3) as a strong contender in the competitive true wireless earbuds market, emphasizing audio fidelity. Battery performance is advertised at 10 hours per charge, although it is unclear if this includes ANC usage, extending to a total of 38 hours with the charging case.
These leaks provide a clearer preview than Nothing’s initial teasers, building anticipation for the Ear (3)’s launch. The device’s emphasis on design innovation, audio fidelity, and practical enhancements like the case microphone is likely to generate significant interest among consumers and tech enthusiasts alike.
