OnePlus is poised to launch a completely redesigned flagship, the OnePlus 15, as revealed by a recent leak showcasing the device’s new design, marking a significant departure from its predecessors.
The most notable change in the OnePlus 15 is its rear camera module, which has shifted from the circular design of previous models to a square, black module with rounded corners. This new module houses three cameras, arranged in a two-plus-one configuration, as seen in the leaked image from a Weibo post. The leak also reveals three potential color options for the device: Dune, Absolute Black, and Mist Purple. The Dune color is expected to be the “hero color” prominently featured in marketing materials, while Absolute Black is touted as the “blackest black paint on a smartphone.” Mist Purple, on the other hand, offers a softer, gradient option.
The OnePlus 15 is rumored to feature a flat 6.78-inch 1.5K display with a 165Hz refresh rate, driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Notably, after ending its partnership with Hasselblad, OnePlus is set to introduce its own in-house image engine, a move that signifies a new direction for the company’s camera technology.
In terms of battery life, the device is expected to boast a substantial 7,000mAh battery with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. The OnePlus 15 is anticipated to be unveiled in October, alongside the Ace 6. Interestingly, the company is skipping any model number containing the digit “4”, adhering to a traditional practice that has been observed in its naming conventions.
