OpenAI has launched the OpenAI Grove, a program tailored for technical individuals in the early stages of company building, providing them with a talent network, resources, and opportunities to co-build with OpenAI researchers.
Unlike traditional startup accelerators, the Grove is designed for pre-idea individuals, offering guidance from the OpenAI team and peers within the community as they explore initial concepts. The program is structured as the foundation of a long-term network, beginning with five weeks of programming at OpenAI’s San Francisco headquarters. This intensive period includes in-person workshops, weekly office hours, and mentorship from OpenAI technical leaders, equipping participants with the necessary tools and expertise to move forward.
Participants in the OpenAI Grove will also gain early access to new OpenAI tools and models before they are released to the public, providing them with hands-on experience and a competitive edge. Upon completing the program, participants will have the opportunity to explore various paths, including raising capital or pursuing other options, both within and outside of OpenAI. This flexibility allows them to determine the best course for their ventures.
The first Grove cohort will comprise around fifteen participants, and OpenAI is seeking applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and experience levels. The deadline for applications is September 24th, 2025, and OpenAI encourages interested individuals to apply.
