Sony has officially launched the Xperia 10 VII, a mid-range smartphone that boasts a redesigned rear camera module and several hardware upgrades, making it a notable addition to the company’s lineup.
The device features a horizontally aligned, pill-shaped camera module that draws inspiration from Pixel designs. This module houses a 50MP Sony Exmor RS main sensor and a 13MP ultrawide lens, catering to diverse photography needs. Additionally, an 8MP front-facing camera is included for capturing high-quality selfies.
The Xperia 10 VII is equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display that offers Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smooth visual experience. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, enhancing its durability. Internally, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, which can be extended up to 2TB via microSD. The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery, promising extended usage.
The Xperia 10 VII ships with Android 15 and is committed to receiving four years of OS updates and six years of security patches, ensuring the device remains secure and up-to-date. The smartphone also includes software features such as Circle to Search and Google Gemini. On the hardware front, it boasts dual front-facing speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a dedicated camera shutter button, and an IP65/68 water- and dust-resistance rating, making it a robust and versatile device. The Xperia 10 VII will be available in three color options: White, Turquoise, and Charcoal black. It is priced at €449, which is approximately $525 USD. Pre-orders for the device are currently open, with shipping expected to commence on September 19.
