A new Pokémon spinoff, Pokémon Pokopia, is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, offering a unique twist on the traditional Pokémon formula with a Minecraft-inspired visual style.

The game marks a significant departure from the established Pokémon format, with players taking on the role of a Ditto transformed into a human form. The core gameplay revolves around cultivating an empty landscape into a habitable environment for Pokémon, involving activities such as taming the wilderness, growing crops, and utilizing classic Pokémon moves to shape the environment.

The visual aesthetic of Pokémon Pokopia combines the blocky landscapes reminiscent of Minecraft with the characteristic cute characters and tone of the Pokémon franchise, creating a distinct and captivating world. The game’s objective centers around creating a suitable home for Pokémon within the newly formed landscape, providing a fresh and engaging experience for fans of the series.
