Apple has discontinued the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max following the launch of the iPhone 17 series at its “Awe Dropping” event, marking a significant shift in the company’s iPhone lineup.
The current iPhone lineup now starts with the iPhone 16e, with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus remaining available. Both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus have received price reductions, making them more competitive in the market. The iPhone 16, now only offered with 128GB of storage, is priced at $699, representing a change in the device’s configuration and pricing strategy.
The iPhone 16 Plus is available in two storage configurations: 128GB and 256GB, both priced at $799. This pricing strategy indicates that Apple is maintaining a consistent price point for the higher storage variant while offering a more affordable entry point with the lower storage option.
The newly unveiled iPhone 17 series, comprising the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, features several significant upgrades across the entire lineup. Notably, all models now come equipped with 120Hz displays for the first time, enhancing the overall user experience with smoother visuals.
In addition to the improved displays, the iPhone 17 series boasts camera upgrades, a new design, and improved selfie cameras. These enhancements are expected to provide users with a more advanced and refined smartphone experience, further solidifying Apple’s position in the competitive tech market.
