Oppo has unveiled the A6 Pro, a rugged smartphone engineered to withstand harsh environments, boasting IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings that signify its robust resistance to water and dust.
The A6 Pro’s durability is highlighted by its ability to withstand 8,000 KPa of hot water pressure and remain submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. It even allows for operation with wet or oily hands, showcasing its waterproof design.
Further emphasizing its durability, the A6 Pro can survive a 2.5-meter drop and endure continuous 1.5-meter drops. Additionally, it can withstand up to 1,830 drops from a height of 0.5 meters, demonstrating its robust build quality. This resilience is attributed to its aviation-grade aluminum frame and Crystal Shield glass, which provides 160% better drop resistance compared to its predecessors.
The device also features enhanced signal strength thanks to its 36-degree surround antenna, known as the Shanhai RF Antenna, which is integrated into the phone’s frame. This innovative design improves low-frequency transmission by 200% and automatically switches to the optimal network when lag is detected, ensuring a stable connection.
Powering the A6 Pro is a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, paired with 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM, offering a range of configurations to suit different needs. The device is equipped with a 7,000 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. Oppo claims that the battery retains 80% of its capacity after 1,830 charging cycles and can charge at temperatures as low as -20°C, maintaining fast charging between 0°C and 43°C.
The A6 Pro’s camera setup includes a 50MP f/1.8 wide-angle rear lens and a 2MP depth sensor, complemented by a 16MP f/2.4 front-facing camera. The device features a 6.57-inch 2372×1080 px OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, providing an immersive visual experience.
The Oppo A6 Pro is available in Gold, Blue, and Black Jade colors, with four storage configurations: 8/256GB (CNY 1,799), 12/256GB (CNY 1,999), 16/256GB (CNY 2,199), and 16/512GB (CNY 2,499). Pre-orders are currently open, with shipments scheduled to begin on September 12.
