Lego has unveiled its largest Star Wars set to date, the Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars Death Star, boasting 9,023 pieces and a price tag of $999.99.
The set is scheduled for release on October 4, although Lego Insiders will have early access starting October 1. Notably, there is no pre-order option available, meaning fans will have to wait until the release date to purchase the set.
To incentivize early purchases, Lego is offering a bonus for those who buy the Death Star set between October 1 and 7: a free Lego Star Wars TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack, available while supplies last.
The Death Star set is remarkably detailed and includes 38 Star Wars minifigures. The diverse cast of characters comprises two versions of Luke Skywalker (Jedi and Stormtrooper), two versions of Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2, alongside Stormtroopers and the Royal Guard.
The set meticulously recreates several iconic locations from the original Star Wars trilogy. These include the trash compactor, Emperor Palpatine’s throne room, Princess Leia’s prison cell, the tractor-beam control unit, and the Imperial shuttle hangar, allowing fans to relive memorable moments from the franchise.
The Death Star set’s design is open, providing an unobstructed view of each section of the station and the scenes within. Once assembled, the model measures 20.6 inches (52.3 cm) in height, 18.9 inches (48.0 cm) in width, and 15.1 inches (38.3 cm) in depth.
The Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars Death Star set will be available for purchase on October 4, with early access for Lego Insiders commencing on October 1.
