Threads Updates Features to Enhance Multi-Post Experience

Threads has announced a series of updates designed to enhance the multi-part post experience on its platform, with the company stating its goal is “making it easier to thread on Threads.”

A key update involves the introduction of a new label system to indicate a post’s position within a thread. For example, a post might display “1/4” to signify it’s the first of four posts. This feature is designed to help users easily follow a series of connected posts, which is especially useful for live event coverage, live show commentary, or multi-part stories.

In addition to the new label system, Threads has also increased its character limit to 10,000 characters and introduced a text attachment feature. These changes are part of the company’s efforts to improve the overall threading experience.

Threads is also modifying how threads are displayed on user profiles. Users will now see the first and second posts of a thread, followed by an indicator of the number of additional posts in that thread. When a user clicks on a thread, all responses from the original poster will be shown in one place, simplifying conversation tracking.

To create multi-part threads, users can follow a straightforward process outlined by Threads: “To share a multi-part thread, start by writing your first post in the composer. Then, tap ‘Add to thread’ to keep building. Repeat as many times as you need to tell your story in a series of connected posts.”
