Capcom has replaced a disqualified winning entry in its Street Fighter 6 community art contest with a new illustration of Kimberly, following allegations of AI use in the original submission.
The contest rules stipulated that all entries must be original works, leading to the disqualification. The new Kimberly art is based on her swimsuit Outfit 4 and will be distributed to all Street Fighter 6 players free of charge.
In a statement, Capcom mentioned that the illustration is based on her swimsuit Outfit 4, which has been earning rave reviews from the community. In addition to the Kimberly piece, Capcom will also add other winning entries, representing a variety of playable characters, to the game.
These art pieces will also be available to all Street Fighter 6 players at no cost. The winning artworks will appear during online matches. The decision to replace the disqualified artwork and provide all winning entries for free aims to celebrate the creativity of Street Fighter players and resolve the controversy surrounding the AI allegations.
