Google has expanded the language support for NotebookLM’s Video Overviews feature to 80 languages, including French, German, Spanish, and Japanese, in a significant update announced on Monday.
The Video Overviews feature, launched last month, allows users to convert notes, PDFs, and images into video presentations. Initially limited to English, the update now enables non-English speakers to utilize visual summaries in their preferred language, catering to NotebookLM’s global user base.
In addition to the enhancements made to Video Overviews, Audio Overviews are also being upgraded. Non-English audio summaries have been improved to provide more detailed information, making comprehensive audio summaries available in over 80 languages. The option for shorter, highlight-focused overviews will continue to be available.
These updates aim to better serve NotebookLM’s diverse, international audience by providing learning resources in multiple languages through both video and audio formats, thereby enhancing the overall user experience.
The updates are effective starting today, with a global rollout scheduled over the next week, making these enhanced features accessible to all users worldwide.
