WhatsApp Simplifies Multi-Message Selection on iOS Beta

WhatsApp is testing a new feature on its iOS beta version that simplifies the process of selecting multiple messages, making it easier for users to copy and manage conversations.

The new feature, available on WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.22.10.77, introduces a “Select multiple” option within the menu that appears after selecting a single message. This eliminates the more convoluted method currently used on the stable iOS version, where users must long-press a message, tap “Forward,” and then select multiple messages to copy them.

With the new option, after selecting “Select multiple,” users can simply tap on other messages to add them to their selection. Once the desired messages are selected, users can then forward, delete, or share them using the buttons at the bottom of the screen. The current method on the stable iOS version requires users to long press on a single message, select “Forward,” and then choose multiple messages before copying them via the share button.

This new beta feature aims to make the selection process more intuitive and efficient. WhatsApp previously rolled out the ability to select a portion of text from a single message in June, giving users more granular control over what they copy and share.

The new “Select multiple” message option is expected to be rolled out to the general public in a future update, bringing the iOS app in line with the Android version, which already offers a more straightforward multi-select function. The update is currently available to beta testers who have signed up through TestFlight to receive beta versions of the Meta-owned messaging app.
