Spotify is enhancing its music sharing capabilities on Instagram with two new features rolling out globally, focusing on integrating audio previews into Instagram Stories and enabling real-time music updates within Instagram Notes.
The first update allows users to share a song to Instagram Stories, which will now automatically include a short audio clip preview of the track. Viewers can listen to the preview directly from the Story and tap the music sticker to access the full song on Spotify. Furthermore, tapping the song title in the Story leads to Instagram’s audio page, where users can discover related Reels or save the track to their Spotify “Liked Songs.”
The second update integrates with Instagram Notes, enabling users to display the song they are currently listening to in real-time. Once enabled, the Note automatically updates to reflect the currently playing track or the next track within a 30-minute timeframe. Friends can then respond directly to the Note or save the song to their own library. Additionally, Spotify has introduced a new share option, making it easier to post tracks directly to Notes.
These updates coincide with other developments on Instagram, including a new feature for creators to link multiple Reels in a series, simplifying navigation for viewers. Spotify has also recently announced a feature similar to Apple Music’s AutoFix feature. These changes come shortly after Spotify increased prices for paid subscribers worldwide.
