WhatsApp is working on a new feature that enables users to record voice messages when calls go unanswered, simplifying the process of leaving a voice note. This development was reported by WABetaInfo.
The feature is currently available in the latest Android beta version, although it has not yet been rolled out to iOS users. When a call is missed, a “Record voice message” button appears, allowing users to leave a voice note without having to navigate to the chat interface manually. This functionality is expected to streamline the process of communicating with others through the app.
The introduction of this feature follows a recent report by WABetaInfo that WhatsApp is testing a reminders feature designed to help users recall missed calls. While the company continues to invest in call-related features, there is currently no confirmed timeline for their public release. Additionally, the voicemail-like feature is not yet available on the iOS TestFlight, indicating that iOS users will have to wait longer to access this functionality.
