PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers will lose access to eight games from the service’s Game Catalogue on September 16th, 2025, rendering them unplayable even for those who have previously added them to their library.
The list of departing games includes a mix of titles across various genres and platforms: UFC 5 for PS5, The Plucky Squire for PS5, Night in the Woods for both PS5 and PS4, Road 96 available on PS5 and PS4, Pistol Whip for PSVR2, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir on PS4, FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch on PS5 and PS4, and Dragon’s Crown Pro for PS4.
Eurogamer’s Editorial Director, Tom Orry, has weighed in on the departing titles, recommending some over others. He particularly praises “FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch” as a noteworthy Metroidvania game worth playing. Orry also suggests that PSVR2 owners should consider playing “Pistol Whip,” and that “The Plucky Squire” is a title worth exploring. Additionally, he notes that “Night in the Woods,” “Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir,” and “Dragon’s Crown Pro” are all high-quality games that subscribers might enjoy.
However, not all departing titles received Orry’s unqualified endorsement. He advises against rushing to play “UFC 5” and expresses disappointment with the writing in “Road 96,” suggesting that subscribers prioritize other games over these.
