YouTube Music is testing a new personalized music recommendation feature called “Your Daily Discover,” aiming to enhance music discovery by offering daily suggestions based on users’ listening habits.
The “Your Daily Discover” section has been spotted on the YouTube Music app’s homepage, specifically on the iOS version, by Reddit user u/One_Flow_8127. It appears above the “Trending songs for you” section after scrolling down the main feed. The feature is presented in a horizontal carousel format, enabling users to browse individual tracks rather than full playlists. Each recommended track comes with a brief note explaining why it was suggested, and a “Play All” button allows users to compile the suggested songs into a new playlist for immediate listening.
This feature was initially identified about a month earlier on YouTube Music for Android by Reddit user BarisberatWNR, though its placement on the homepage was different. This discrepancy suggests that YouTube is likely experimenting with various layouts to optimize user engagement. Currently, the “Your Daily Discover” feature is being rolled out to a limited number of users, with many users in the original Reddit thread reporting that they do not yet have access to it.
The new tool is designed to help users discover new artists and music that closely align with their tastes. By introducing this feature, YouTube Music is positioning itself to more directly compete with rivals like Spotify, which already offers a similar “Discover Picks For You” carousel on its homepage.
