This unexpected “10” in the title could indicate a change in how Google names its foldable devices, though it might also be a casual branding choice or even a typo. The teaser, posted on the Made by Google YouTube channel, largely reuses footage and the instrumental soundtrack from Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s “The Next Episode” from a previous teaser released earlier in the week.
The primary difference in this new video is a revised voiceover, which takes on a nostalgic tone: “People used to stand in line for phone releases. Which begs the question… did people change? Or did phones… not?” This voiceover appears to suggest that the forthcoming foldable will be a significant innovation.
The highly anticipated Pixel 10 series is scheduled to debut on August 20. Alongside the new foldable, Google is expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a at the Made by Google event. Leaks and rumors surrounding the Pixel 10 series suggest several key upgrades, including the integration of a Tensor G5 chip, a brighter cover display for the foldable model, and potentially the first IP68 rating for a Pixel fold device.
