LinkedIn has introduced “Mini Sudoku,” a compact version of the classic puzzle game, which has received positive feedback for its innovative approach since its launch this week.
The new game differs from traditional Sudoku by using only six numbers instead of nine, making the puzzles smaller and more suitable for mobile devices. The fundamental rule remains unchanged: players must fill in the blank spaces to ensure that no number is repeated in any line, row, or box. To aid players, the game includes features such as note-taking and hints for those who need help.
Early users have noted that the reduced size of the puzzles results in a shorter completion time. For example, a user who typically spends over five minutes on an “easy” New York Times Sudoku puzzle reported completing their first two Mini Sudoku puzzles in approximately two and four minutes, respectively. This quicker solve time makes the game an attractive option for those seeking a brief mental challenge.
Although some players have experienced minor issues with the game’s integration within the LinkedIn platform, which can lead to accidental scrolling through the main feed during gameplay, the appeal of the daily puzzles has been sufficient to encourage users to adapt. The introduction of Mini Sudoku may also prompt players to explore other games available on LinkedIn.
