Samsung’s One UI 8 Beta 4 has been found to have a peculiar camera bug causing the moon to appear purple and blurry in photos taken with Galaxy devices, affecting users in the US, UK, and India.

The glitch occurs when the device’s Intelligent Optimization setting is set to “Maximum” and the camera zoom exceeds 30x. Users have reported that these purple moon images are also noticeably blurrier compared to photos captured on devices running One UI 7.

The One UI beta team has acknowledged the problem, describing it as a “once in a purple moon type of bug,” and apologized for the inconvenience. While a timeline for a fix has not been provided, a temporary workaround involves changing the Intelligent Optimization setting to anything other than “Maximum.”
