Donkey Kong is back, and he’s bringing a 3D platforming adventure exclusively to the Nintendo Switch 2. Donkey Kong Bananza arrives July 17th, following the Switch 2 launch on June 5th.

Bananza gives DK a fresh look, drawing inspiration from his appearance in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Nintendo’s YouTube trailer teases, “Explore a vast underground world—by smashing your way through it! Bash, throw, and climb through just about anything in DK’s brand-new 3D platforming action-adventure game!”

The trailer showcases DK’s newfound abilities, including scaling walls reminiscent of Link in Breath of the Wild. Players can also expect to pick up and hurl rocks to smash through enemies and walls, and dig into the ground with his fists. The game will also feature classic 2D sections and mine cart rides.
