Elon Musk, the owner of X, has announced plans to integrate advertisements into the responses generated by Grok, the platform’s AI chatbot, in a bid to bolster the company’s struggling advertising business.
Musk revealed that the primary focus has been on developing Grok into “the smartest, most accurate AI in the world,” and the company will now address the costs associated with its powerful GPUs. He informed advertisers that marketers would be able to pay for their content to appear within Grok’s suggestions, particularly when a user is seeking solutions to problems.
Furthermore, Musk intends to leverage technology from his AI startup, xAI, to enhance ad targeting across the social network. Notably, xAI acquired X earlier this year in a $45 billion deal, underscoring the significant investment in the platform’s AI capabilities.
