TikTok has expanded its “Add to Music app” feature to include YouTube Music, allowing users to save songs discovered on the platform directly to their YouTube Music account, according to TechCrunch.
The integration enables users to send songs from TikTok to a dedicated “TikTok Songs” playlist within their YouTube Music account. Initially launched in 2023 with limited partnerships, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, the feature was only available to users in the United States and United Kingdom. Since its launch, TikTok has significantly expanded the feature’s reach, now supporting over 160 countries and additional services, including Deezer and SoundCloud.
When users select YouTube Music as their preferred service, it becomes the default app for saving songs from TikTok. This setting can be modified through the app’s Settings menu under the Music section, allowing users to manage their preferences. The integration is designed to streamline the process of saving and organizing music discovered while browsing TikTok content.
Tracy Gardner, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, highlighted the feature’s success in the music industry. “Add to Music App continues to deliver real results for the music industry, with hundreds of millions of track saves translating into billions of streams on music streaming services,” Gardner stated, emphasizing the impact of the feature.
