Square Enix has announced that the next major update for Final Fantasy 14, Patch 7.3, will be titled “The Promise of Tomorrow” and is scheduled to release on August 5th. The date was revealed during the latest “Letter from the Producer” livestream, which also debuted a new trailer for the patch.
This update will conclude the main story scenario of the Dawntrail expansion. Key content additions include the second installment of the “Echoes of Vana’diel” alliance raid, which will take players to a recreation of San d’Oria from Final Fantasy 11, and a new dungeon called “The Meso Terminal.” The crossover with Final Fantasy 11 has reportedly led to a resurgence in that game’s player base, prompting Square Enix to recently close its most popular server to new character creation due to overpopulation.
Patch 7.3 will also introduce a new Deep Dungeon named “Pilgrim’s Traverse,” a new trial, new weapon enhancement quests, and a chat bubble feature, among other updates.
The full list of content scheduled for Patch 7.3 includes: Main Scenario – The Promise of Tomorrow, New Alliance Raid – Echoes of Vana’diel – San d’Oria: The Second Walk, New Dungeon – The Meso Terminal, New Trial, New Unreal Trial, New Treasure Dungeon, Crystalline Conflict Update, Weapon Enhancement Quests – Phantom Weapons, New Deep Dungeon – Pilgrim’s Traverse, Allied Society Quests – Yok Huy, Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures, Cosmic Exploration and Tool Enhancement Quests – Cosmic Tools, Chat Bubble Feature, New PvP Gear, New Mounts, Minions, and Emotes, Additional Duty Support, and Additional Doman Mahjong Voices for Wuk Lamat, Koana, and Bakool Ja Ja.
