Google Introduces Jump-to-Top Button in Discover Feed

Google has introduced a new feature to its Discover feed, a “jump-to-top” button, to improve user navigation, and it is currently available in the latest Google app beta version, v16.28.59.sa.arm64.

The functionality of this new button is specific to how users access the Discover feed. It appears only when Discover is accessed directly from the launcher by swiping right from the home screen. Notably, the button does not appear if the Discover feed is opened through the Google app itself. Furthermore, the button’s visibility is conditional; it only becomes apparent as the user begins to scroll back up the feed, ensuring it does not intrude on those who are continuously scrolling down.

This minor user interface adjustment aligns with similar features found in other applications and is expected to be well-received by users. The widespread appearance of this button across devices running the current beta suggests a broad rollout. This update follows recent reports that Google is also experimenting with additional features for the Discover feed, including bookmarks and AI summaries.
