Moto 360 (2025) Smartwatch Leaked Renders Revealed

Leaked renders of the Moto 360 (2025) smartwatch have provided the public with an initial glimpse of the device, suggesting a potential revival of the iconic Android smartwatch line. Published by Android Headlines, these renders depict a design that, while functional, is described as somewhat conventional compared to other contemporary smartwatches.

The design of the Moto 360 (2025) features a round display, a characteristic consistent with its predecessors, accompanied by minute and hour markers on the bezel. The watch case is confirmed to be metal and is expected to be available in five distinct colors. Control elements include a side button and a crown, the latter of which is adorned with Motorola’s signature “M” logo. The render shows the watch paired with a metal link bracelet, though it is anticipated that other band options will be offered upon release.

Industry observers note that the design appears “safe” when contrasted with more distinctive offerings in the smartwatch market. For instance, Google’s Pixel Watch boasts an “ultra-simplistic design,” Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 lineup is embracing a “squircle” form factor, and the OnePlus Watch 3 features a unique “bulge” on its right side. The Moto 360 (2025)’s appearance is thus seen as a more traditional approach.

A significant point of discussion revolves around the software that will power the Moto 360 (2025). Motorola has previously released smartwatches running Moto Watch OS, a real-time operating system (RTOS) similar to Amazfit’s Zepp OS or Fitbit OS. Currently, it remains unclear whether the Moto 360 (2025) will utilize Motorola’s custom RTOS or adopt Google’s Wear OS, which is a more comprehensive smartwatch operating system. Android Headlines has speculated on the possibility of a dual Wear OS + RTOS setup, akin to the implementation seen in the OnePlus Watch 3, but this remains unconfirmed.

Crucially, unlike the Moto 360 (2019) reboot which was manufactured by a third-party company (eBuyNow), the Moto 360 (2025) is reportedly being manufactured directly by Motorola itself. This shift in manufacturing control is considered a notable development and could influence the product’s quality and integration within Motorola’s ecosystem.

The “2025” designation in the product name suggests a release timeframe before the end of the current year, given that less than six months remain. This indicates that more definitive information regarding the device’s specifications, software, and availability is likely to emerge in the near future. The re-entry of Motorola into the smartwatch market with a self-manufactured device, especially with the lingering questions about its operating system, makes the Moto 360 (2025) a product to watch in the evolving landscape of wearable technology.
