Meta is on the verge of launching its next-generation smart glasses, codenamed Hypernova, featuring an integrated display and advanced AI capabilities, following the success of its Ray-Ban collaboration.

The leaked render of the Hypernova glasses, shared by leaker Arsène Lupin, reveals a pair of smart glasses accompanied by a wrist accessory suspected to be Ceres, a “neural” wristband controller. Ceres is expected to enable intuitive control through hand gestures, allowing users to navigate applications and select items.

The Hypernova glasses are designed similarly to the current Meta Ray-Ban models but with a built-in monocular screen positioned in the lower-right quadrant of the right lens. The screen is anticipated to display a home interface with horizontally arranged circular icons upon activation.

The device is expected to offer robust functionality, including dedicated applications for capturing and viewing photos, accessing maps, and notification support for popular phone applications like WhatsApp and Messenger. Control mechanisms will include capacitive touch interactions on the frames’ sides, in addition to the Ceres wristband.

Meta is also investing in significant upgrades to the integrated camera system. Pricing for the Hypernova smart glasses is estimated to range between $1,000 and $1,400, with the final cost and official marketing name to be determined closer to the product’s announcement.

Furthermore, Meta is reportedly developing a second-generation version, codenamed Hypernova 2, featuring dual screens, but it is not expected to launch until at least 2027.
