Rumors are circulating that MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 SoC is set for an early release, potentially debuting in early to mid-September, in a move to outpace Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in the market.
The Dimensity 9500 processor has been spotted on Geekbench, revealing key specifications of the upcoming chipset. According to information gleaned from the Geekbench listing, the Dimensity 9500 will feature a Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU.
The processor’s core configuration includes a single Travis X930 core clocked at 3.23 GHz, three Alto cores running at 3.03 GHz, and four Gelas cores operating at 2.23 GHz. Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) shared details on Twitter, highlighting the core configurations and GPU specifications.
The Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU is reported to have a clock speed of 1000 MHz. The specifications revealed by the Geekbench data appear to align with a previous leak from April regarding the eight-core configuration of the Dimensity 9500.
However, there is a discrepancy concerning the GPU. Initial rumors suggested the GPU would be an Immoralis-Drage. A prior report indicated that the new Neural Processing Unit (NPU) within the Dimensity 9500 is expected to deliver a substantial performance boost, with a capability of 100 TOPS (tera operations per second).
As the launch window approaches, industry observers anticipate the Dimensity 9500 chipset will surface on various benchmark databases in the coming weeks and months. This will provide further insights into its performance capabilities and how it stacks up against competing SoCs.
The early release of the Dimensity 9500 underscores MediaTek’s ambition to challenge Qualcomm’s dominance in the flagship mobile chipset market. The company is aiming to capture market share by delivering a high-performance and feature-rich SoC that can compete with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
The official specifications and performance metrics of the Dimensity 9500 are expected to be unveiled closer to its launch date. Tech enthusiasts and industry experts are keenly awaiting further information to assess its true potential and impact on the mobile device landscape.
