Xiaomi has unveiled the design of its forthcoming Redmi K Pad, a flagship tablet powered by the Dimensity 9400+ chipset, positioning it as a high-performance competitor in the tablet market.
The Redmi K Pad distinguishes itself from the Redmi Pad Pro with a more compact form factor, featuring an 8.8” LCD screen compared to the 12.1” display of the Redmi Pad Pro. Xiaomi executive Lu Weibing noted that this smaller size enhances portability and facilitates comfortable one-handed use.
Xiaomi is directly targeting the Apple iPad mini with the Redmi K Pad, emphasizing the tablet’s high-resolution display and refresh rate in a Weibo post. To ensure optimal display performance, Xiaomi has reportedly incorporated two display driver ICs, although specific details regarding resolution remain undisclosed.
Rumors suggest the Redmi K Pad will feature an 8.8” IPS LCD with a “3K+” resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The device is also expected to support 67W charging, though the battery capacity is currently unknown. Notably, text adjacent to the camera module reads “Gamma Antenna,” the purpose of which has not yet been clarified.
The Redmi K Pad is rumored to be priced around CNY 4,000 (approximately $560) and is anticipated to launch alongside the Redmi K80 Ultra smartphone, which will also utilize the Dimensity 9400+ processor. The official announcement of the Redmi K Pad is expected on June 18, 2025, at 20:00 (Chinese Time).
