The successor to the OnePlus 13 is rumored to undergo significant changes, potentially launching as the OnePlus 15, skipping the number “4” due to tetraphobia concerns in some Asian markets.
One of the most notable changes is the screen resolution, with the OnePlus 15 reportedly featuring a “1.5K” display, a downgrade from its predecessor, as part of a cost-reduction effort to allocate resources to other areas of the phone.
Despite the lower resolution, the display is expected to be 6.78 inches and maintain a flat design with ultra-narrow bezels on all four sides, aiming for a modern and immersive viewing experience.
The camera module is also set to be redesigned, replacing the circular camera island seen on previous OnePlus models. The OnePlus 15 is expected to feature three rear cameras, including a 50 MP main camera and a periscope telephoto camera, promising enhanced photography capabilities.
OnePlus is reportedly introducing its own image brand for the first time, although the specific name remains unconfirmed, with speculation suggesting it could be Oppo’s Lumo. This development raises questions about the future of the Hasselblad co-branding, a long-standing feature of OnePlus flagships.
The introduction of the new imaging brand may result in the OnePlus 15 featuring three brands – OnePlus, Hasselblad, and the new imaging brand – or potentially discontinuing the Hasselblad partnership.
Contrary to expectations, there will reportedly be no OnePlus 15 Pro model, with the standard OnePlus 15 being the sole flagship offering in this series.
