Amazon has made its generative AI advertising tool, the Amazon Ad’s Video Generator, generally available to sellers in the US, allowing them to create video ads quickly, sometimes with just a single click.
The free tool, which was introduced in beta last year, can create “photorealistic video assets” in five minutes or less, according to Amazon. New features enhance the tool’s capabilities, including motion improvements designed to showcase items in action, deemed particularly useful for products like toys, tools, and accessories.
These motion improvements enable clips that demonstrate product use rather than static displays, and sellers are presented with six different video options and can add their brand logos. The Video Generator can now produce ads with multiple connected scenes, incorporating elements such as humans, pets, text overlays, and background music, resulting in ads that can be up to 21 seconds long.
This creates content closer to traditional commercials. Additionally, a new video summarization feature allows for the creation of condensed video ads from existing footage like demos and tutorials. Amazon states that the tool automatically identifies and extracts key clips for new ad campaign videos.
A one-click image-to-video feature is also available, creating shorter, GIF-style clips to show products in motion. With the tool now generally available and free to use, Amazon retailers are expected to begin utilizing these AI-generated video ads in their campaigns.
