Nintendo’s GameCube Controller for the Switch 2 has returned to the My Nintendo Store for purchase, offering fans a nostalgic gaming experience with classic titles at a price of $64.99.

The controller’s availability is currently limited to those with a premium Nintendo Switch Online membership, starting at $19.99 per year. Additionally, there is a restriction of one controller per account for prospective buyers.

This iteration of the GameCube controller retains its iconic design while incorporating modern enhancements, most notably wireless functionality. The new version also features a dedicated “C” button for accessing GameChat, a free voice chat service available until March 31st, 2026.

Other additions include buttons for screenshot capture and device pairing, as well as a USB-C port for charging, enhancing the overall user experience.

It is crucial to note that the controller is specifically designed for use with GameCube titles available through the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack and is not compatible with standard Switch 2 games.

At the time of its release, the supported GameCube titles included popular games such as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Soulcalibur II, with Nintendo planning to expand the Expansion Pack library with more GameCube titles in the future.
