Redmi has officially unveiled the Redmi Pad 2, the successor to the 2022 Redmi Pad, expanding the brand’s tablet offerings. The new tablet boasts an 11-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate.

The display offers a maximum brightness of 600 nits and supports input from the Redmi Smart Pen, making it a versatile device for various user needs. Powering the Redmi Pad 2 is the Helio G100 Ultra chipset, which, despite being branded as a newer processor, is noted to be similar in performance to the Helio G99 found in the previous generation.

The Redmi Pad 2 is available in various configurations to cater to different user requirements. Storage and configuration options include Wi-Fi only and cellular versions, with users able to choose between 4GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Additionally, expansion is available via a microSD card slot, supporting cards up to 2TB.

In terms of camera capabilities, the tablet features a 5MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear camera, providing users with adequate photography options. The Redmi Pad 2 runs on HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, ensuring a smooth and updated user experience.

The device is equipped with a 9,000mAh battery, a significant increase from its predecessor, and supports 18W charging via USB-C, addressing concerns about battery life. The Redmi Pad 2 is available in three colors: Graphite Gray, Mint Green, and Lavender Purple, offering users a choice to suit their preferences.

Pricing for the Wi-Fi-only models starts at £169 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration, increasing to £219 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option. Cellular models begin at £219 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage version and retail for £259 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, making it a competitively priced device in the market.
